Phil & I have a huge silver maple in our Denver back yard, teeming with life. The title of this blog comes from the day I was upset at the death of one our tree’s residents, and Phil consoled me, “That’s life in the big tree, Carrie.” So while the scope of this blog is beyond the tree, it is the symbolic center of our natural microcosm.
